1934 Ford hot rod under bygging av en 66 åring et sted i Sverige.
Riktignok glassfiberkarosseri, men likevel bedre putre rundt med enn å mate duer og løse kryssord, eller?

Med vekt som vanligvis ender på litt over 1300kg, vil jeg tro bilen blir kapabel til det man gjerne kaller "svært sikre forbikjøringer" når den er klar.
Dere her på forumet bør lett kjenne igjen motoren... :wink: Forørvrig er både motor, gear og bakaksel hentet fra samme bil.

Det er alltid plassproblem for motoren i en rod. De gamle Ford sideventils V-åtterne er veldig små. Chevrolets tradisjonelle small block er minst, rent fysisk, av de klassiske amerikanske v-åtterne. Likevel må torpedoveggen alltid flyttes baokover, selv på 34 modellene, som har bedre plass enn "ur-hot roddene" 32 modellene.

I tillegg har Chevorlets v-åttere fordeleren i bakkant av innsuget, mens de fleste andre (Ford, Mopar) har fordeleren i forkant av innsuget. På min har jeg flyttet midt delen av torpedoveggen 10 cm bakover. På sidene er den flyttet 6 cm bakover. Legg så til at beinplassen på disse bilene er tilpasset snitthøyden på folk i de harde tredveåra, samt at de gjerne satt endel høyere enn det vi gjør nå. Sittestillingen på min bil er 20-30 cm lengre bak enn originalt, og dashboard'et sitter 10-15 cm lengre bak enn orginalt.

De moderne aluminiums åttere fra f.eks BMW, Lexus og MB er veldig brede og vanskeligere å tilpasse i en gammel bil. Ofte får ikke toppene plass bak pansersidene. Og om de får plass, blir problemet med å bli kvitt varme selvsagt større, jo større rent fysisk motren er.
Selv om varmeutviklingen på en moderne motor sikkert er noe mindre enn på gammeldagse konstruksjoner, kjøres gjerne motorene i dag på varmere normaltemperatur.
