Shit, og jeg som skulle legge meg! :mrgreen:

Bildet er egentlig kimen til mange gode historier regner jeg med, men hva annet kan man vente når det innbefatter Alberto Ascari, Vittorio Jano, Scuderia Ferrari, Lancia, Peter Collins, Juan Manuel Fangio og - akkurat i dette løpet - Stirling Moss.

Lancia D50 og Lancias triste endelikt i F1 kan man slå opp både her og der, men det vi ser på bildet er en Ferrari-Lancia D50, sånn rent formelt. Scuderia Ferrari fikk bilen (og Jano) gratis hos Lancia da sistnevnte trakk seg fra F1, og så begynte de å modifisere den. HVor mye Jano endret på sitt opprinnelige degígn vet jeg ikke, men den vant i alle fall mye. Svært mye. Den endte opp såpass modifisert at SF turde å døpe den om til Ferrari 801 i 1957, og med Jano om bord ble det V8 for alle penga på resten av bilene.

Sånn litt på siden: det har vært spekulert i om 33 Stradale og etterhvert Montrealen kom på tegnebrettet fordi Alfa hadde fått nyss om at Ferrari og Fiat hadde planlagt noe samrøre med GT-biler med Dino-sekser og -åtter i. Dino-motorene var konstruert av ex-Alfamann Jano og senere gatekonvertert for Fiat av ex-Ferrarimann Lampredi, mens Alfas svar (om noe av dette er riktig) hadde sitt utspring i ex-Ferrarimann Carlo Chitis motordesign. De som har fulgt med i historietimen vil kanskje skjønne at vi har mye å takke dronningbitchen fru Ferrari for ;)

Men herregud, til saken:
Bildet viser Juan Manuel Fangio under morgentreningen til Monaco GP i mai 1956. Bildet er et av legendariske Louis Klemantaskis mest kjente bilder og er tatt i Mirabeu-svingen, før man kjører ned mot den berømte hårnåla. Tydelig at dette var leeenge før "kjøreegenskaper" ble ensbetydende med "overlegent veigrep". Tror ikke de setter opp og drifter F1-biler gjennom Mirabeu i dag ;)

Under løpet stilte SF med to D50-er, og Fangio delte begge bilene med to andre (Collins og Castelotti). Fangio var på dette tidspunktet 45 år, men han hadde fortsatt to VM-titler igjen å vinne da bildet ble tatt. En nokså spesiell mann :) Han ble nummer to i Monaco, slått av Stirling Moss med noen få sekunder.

Moss slår Fangio med noen billengder i Monaco. For en dag!

1933 i San Damaso utenfor Modena. Tazio Nuvolari, Enzo Ferrari og Mario Umberto (Baconin) Borzacchini sverger troskap til Scuderia Ferrari. Bildet er tatt av Ferruccio Testi, det nærmeste (jeg tror) man kommer en hoffotograf hos Ferrari.

Troskapen stakk ikke så veldig dypt. Nuvolari kjørte nemlig for Maserati i 1934. Vant til og med Modena Grand Prix. ;)
